Cook ’s return is neither a sole fictitious character slice nor a welcome return for her part . Instead , Cook will be returning for former Colorado - star Paget Brewster ’s concluding episode . Facing the same fate as Cook , Brewster ’s character Emily Prentiss was given a smaller role in this season ofCriminal Minds , only to be completely write off midway through .
As sports fan will undoubtedly be well-chosen to see Cook give back to the BAU , the fact that it correlate with Brewster ’s last episode more or less dampen any potential joyfulness . as luck would have it , Criminal Mindsfansare not the only ones unhappy with the style the series had take to expel select female cast members . In fact , Vangsness will now be pull two-fold duties as her fibre will also appear in theCriminal Mindsspin - off , Criminal Minds : Suspect Behavior .
Even if it ’s for a individual episode and even if it ’s fetch on by the departure of another distaff cast appendage , it will be nice to see A.J. Cook return to the serial .
