" " The Grim Reaper " forced the team from Detroit to Canada in an endeavor to nail him , but he continued to elude all endeavor from the BAU and at long last attacks Morgan ( Shemar Moore ) , stealing his certification . As the time of year finale concluded , we were left with Hotchner ( Thomas Gibson ) standing font to boldness with " The harvester " and as the sequence fade to bootleg , we were left with a singular audio ; a gunfire .

This case is wrapped a small over half - way through the episode which leave behind time to tackle the Hotchner story .
While work on the doctor display case , Prentiss ( Paget Brewster ) feels they need Hotchner ’s supporter and drives to his apartment in an attempt to find him . As she arrive there is no response . She attempts to call his cellphone earpiece and it rings inside . sleep together something is up , she kick in the door and finds broken glassful , ancestry and a gunfire hole in the wall . After calling Garcia ( Kirsten Vangsness ) and Reid ( Matthew Gray Gubler ) for assistance , Prentiss vows them not to inform the respite of the team as they require to stay focused . Garcia ends up calling local hospitals and finds that a " Derek Morgan " had spend off someone last Nox . As Prentiss arrives at the hospital , she discover Hotchner in stable condition after being jab nine time and they " The harvester " had drop Hotchner off using the credentials he steal from Morgan .
After land up the previous causa , the squad arrives at the hospital where Hotchner realizes that " The Reaper " took his ex - wife ’s savoir-faire and is going after his Logos . As the BAU arrive at her house , they find his ex - married woman safe and that his boy is ride out at a protagonist ’s sign of the zodiac . Morgan quickly retrieves him , but with a threat on his kinsperson , they ’re put in protective custody where Hotchner can have no contact with them .
" The Reaper ’s " plan was not the kill Hotchner , but to stimulate him continuous pain by not allowing him to see his son . With a confident input from Rossi ( Joe Mantegna ) that " we ’ll fascinate him , " the instalment total to an oddment .
Review
While I was n’t too happy at first about them starting a new case rather of stick out right into the more important Hotchner plot line , I at long last came around . I love the fact that the fresh eccentric was abbreviated , but still felt consummate . I also like how they connected Hotchner to the other case and that ultimately finding him give them information to solve the old pillowcase .
The whole slant about Hotcher never being capable to see his son again was pretty intense . I ca n’t think they pass in that steering with it . It ’s something I was n’t expecting it at all . I hope that " The Reaper " plot line will continue and conclude this time of year ( not drawn out ) and not just something they used as a agency to write his ex - married woman and boy off the show . While I do n’t really enjoy the actor who play " The Reaper , " I enjoy what they have written around the character and since we do n’t see " The harvester " character enough , it does n’t make a conflict .
I still miss Mandy Patikin on this show and was n’t too happy that this was a very Garcia - clear installment . Still , it was enjoyable and has me concerned on what ’s to come next .
