Screen Rant : Guys , this movie is utterly mad . I did not know what I was getting into . I put it on . For the first half , I ’m going , " Is this a romantic comedy , because I palpate like it ’s not , and something ’s going to befall . " And then something brainsick happens . Brian and David , tell us the genesis to this wild , wild tale .

Brian Crano : We were going to Italy for a trip , we were about to adopt a baby , and we get stupefy in a ditch in rural Italy . Yeah , all the first number happen , and we gravel so freaked out because we ’re so used to being well-to-do Silver Lake Americans that we just thought we were going to get kill . And then we keep telling all our friend this , and they were like , " That ’s a horror moving picture . You have to make a horror movie . " So we did .

Andrew Rannells : As I echo , the first time I read it , I did not really know . There was a bit of a log tune , but reading it was a big surprisal . And imagining that it was Nick and I doing that together was particularly entertaining . Because I just kept picturing us doing some of these things .

How are you bozo setting this up for the public ? Because I do n’t desire to bungle anything . Are you saying anything about where it exit ? Are you even saying what genre this flick is ? Because it feel almost unclassifiable to me .

Nick Kroll : I ’ve been selling it as The Crying Game 2 . That form of affair ’s like , " When you view it , do n’t tell everybody what it means . "

Nick Kroll and Andrew Rannells look shocked while one holds a match in I Don’t Understand You

David Craig : Funnily enough , that ’s what we wrote . You guys just embellished it , and we had to rename it .

Morgan Spector : It ’s a pic that ’s ripe for a remaking .

Nick Kroll : It is . But I think , it ’s tough because the way I had been pitching it when I was really order friends about it was one way . And because I think the surprise , we follow it with an audience last night for the first clip , or at least my experience with an audience , and there is a moment that you do n’t experience precisely when or how it ’s coming . You feel that something eerie is going on , but when it happens , the interview ’s response was so pleasurable in how surprised , and shocked , and horrified they were .

Nick Kroll : And my married woman contract off on it . She was coolheaded . She just wanted video . She wanted to see it . But Andrew and I have sleep with each other for a while , and obviously Andrew ’s been an improbably crucial voice in my life and a prominent mouth in my life . And so it feel like it was going to be rude and well-to-do , and it was .

Also , having David and Brian there with us who have such a clear vision for what the film was pop off to be . And also we are surrogates , to some extent , for them . And so being able to watch them and see their dynamic was helpful in establishing what the relationship was , as well as bringing our own relationships into this .

And I desire that ’s what ’s universal is whether you ’re in the experience that these guys are in , that you ’re like , " Oh , I live how me and my collaborator would respond inside of this place , " and hopefully that is kind of easy to drop in with us on .

Eleonora Romandini : It was hard to keep a straight face , very hard . Even when they improvised at 4:00 in the morning , it was very , very difficult . And it was an amazing experience . And I had so many first metre . I had to unravel . I had to , I wo n’t say anything more . You will see . And yeah , everything was bang-up . And it was all very new . And I had such a great time , and sharing with these amazing masses . Wow .

Nick Kroll : We had just watched her inWhite Lotus season 2 , so we were all starstruck , like them f – king bozos , whatever . But I was very starstruck .

I Don’t Understand You

Andrew Rannells : And made us palpate extremely welcome in , being one of sort of outnumber by Americans , and you made us finger extremely welcome . So give thanks you very much .

Morgan Spector : I did n’t express mirth at all on set . I do n’t in reality . I find they ’re oddly very rum off tv camera , but on camera not as much . It ’s very dry . It ’s all business .

But yeah , I was aroused . I lie with the handwriting . I make out the material . I love David and Brian . And I also was very excited to get to do a big Italian character part on camera . It was really fun . And it ’s scary doing an Italian accent and verbalize fake Italian when you do n’t speak Italian in front of an all - Italian crew .
