As we were think about who [ Moana ’s ] antagonist could be , we start up conceive about what is the reverse of connection ? It ’s gulf . What does it mean to be isolated ? It was from there that we really started to think about who the foeman would be .
frankly , it ’s visually sensational what our effects and lighting team has put together . Every day walk into those department for brushup and are like , ' I signify , I bed we asked you to do this , but it ’s cool than I ever could have imagined on my own . ' Which is one of the benefit of working with the expert artists in the world who have their own high standards and their own Passion of Christ for Moana . What would you all say was the biggest surprise you encountered during the production ofMoana 2 ?
Dana Ledoux Miller : I would say the biggest surprise for me was the depth that we were able-bodied to take with her friendly relationship with Maui . We really push it to novel degree , while still maintaining that really fun kind of idiotic banter between them . They ’re still very much the character we fell in love with in the first film , but this friendly relationship that they spring in that first film has changed them in ways that are unexpected and takes them to place that I really do n’t suppose anyone in our audience encounter coming .
