Throughout theStar Warstimeline , the Sith have created far more superweapons thanthe Death Starto fight the Jedi and take over the galaxy . The Death Star is an admittedly muscular space station that can put down entire major planet , hence why the Empire built two in the originalStar Warstrilogy . The First and Final Orders then put their own versions in theStar Warssequel trilogyand made weapon up to of obliterate multiple planets .

Besides the Sith superweapons introduced in the Modern canyon under Disney , there were even more inthe originalStar WarsExpanded Universe , now known as " Legends . " Some were similar to the Death Star in design and function , while others targeted the Sith ’s enemy differently . These superweapons reflect how cruel the Sith could be and the courage it admit for the Jedi to turn back them .

5The Thought Bomb (Legends)

A Sith ritual that destroyed all Force users caught in the blast

The thought bomb was a last resort by the Sith to defeat the Jedi , but it nearly led to their complete extinction . This Sith rite collect dark side free energy into a exclusive eyeball and then released it all at once , instantly killing any Force drug user caught in the blast radius . The only remaining Sith Lord was Darth Bane , who then created the Rule of Two , limiting the Sith to one master and one apprentice at a time .

Kyle Katarn freed the Jedi trapped in the sentiment bomb over 1,000 old age later inStar state of war : Dark Forces - Jedi Knight .

The thought process turkey is a more terrific weapon than the Death Star for Force users , trapping their souls in torment for all time . Of course , it would n’t be much manipulation against non - Force users , but even if it was , it could only target a special field . So while it ’s still dangerous and fell in its own rightfulness , it does n’t have the Death Star ’s power to ruin intact satellite .

4The Dark Reaper (Legends)

It used a Force Harvester to power its weapons

Like the opinion dud , the Dark Reaper was a superweapon that direct Force users , but it could still be used against anyone . It was powered by a Force Harvester , draining the Force from living being and converting them into energy beam that could be fired . The Dark Reaper was defeated when a former Sith teach the Jedi to defend themselves against the Force Harvester .

This Sith artillery did have the Death Star ’s power to fire get-up-and-go blasts , but not nigh on the same scale . It was also limited by powering itself through the Force Harvester , which Jedi could teach themselves to defend against with clip . It ’s not as brutal a fate for force-out - sensitives as the mentation bomb , though the Sith would n’t be probable to destroy themselves either .

3The Star Forge (Legends)

A station that could produce endless ships for a Sith fleet

The Star Forge was create by the Rakatan Infinite Empire , which ruled much of the galaxy in an era before the Republic . It drained energy from stars - like Starkiller Base inStar Wars : The Force Awakens- powering shipyards that could quickly churn out a massive fleet . Darth Malak eventually discovered the Star Forge and attempted to conquer the Republic , but he was defeated by his former victor , Revan , who had grow back to the light .

The Rakatan Star Forge was suggest as becoming canyon in an installment of Star Wars : Rebels , a proposition made even stronger by Andor ’s KotOR references .

Creating countless ship with the Star Forge would give the Sith more cooking stove and power than one Death Star . Malak also scourge the surface of the planet Taris with his fleet , so while he did n’t destruct a world , it had the same effect . The Death Star is still more dangerous because of what its superlaser can do , butthe Star Forge does have an undeniable advantage .

2The Sith Temple Of Malachor

An ancient battle station similar to the Death Star

introduce in the season 2 finale ofStar Wars Rebels , the Sith Temple on Malachor seems to be an former version of what the Sith would eventually accomplish with the Death Star . It was a battle post that could char a planet ’s surfaceand could only be powered by a Sith Holocron . While we have yet to see it move through space , Maul implied it was powerful enough to crush all his enemy .

Of course , the Malachor superweapon backfire by kill every Jedi and Sith present at a final engagement , much like the thought bomb calorimeter . While it ’s standardized to the Death Star , there ’s no confirmation of how powerful it would be in space , or if it could target an entire major planet . It ’s for certain possible , but without a lineal solution , comparing it to the Death Star requires a bit of guess .

1The Final Order Fleet

A fleet of 10,000 planet killers

Without a incertitude , the one Sith superweapon undeniably more life-threatening than the Death Star is the Final Order fleet.10,000 wiz ruiner would be plenty powerful on their own , but each ship of the Final Order could demolish an entire satellite single - handedly . It combines the range of a traditional Sith fleet with the planet - kill capabilities of the Death Star .

It fuse the range of a traditional Sith fleet with the planet - killing capabilities of the Death Star .

If the Resistance had failed to stop the Final Order fleet from leaving Exegol , it would have been closely impossible to loose the galaxy from Palpatine ’s control . Of naturally , these ship had similar weakness to the Death Star , from one tower guiding the whole fleet to the canon being vulnerable to chargeman fire . Even so , the Final Order embodies the ultimate goal of Sith superweapons inStar Warsand is just as dangerous as the Death Star .
