Harald served Emperor Romanos and ledthe Varangian Guardwhile he continue saving to form his own USA and exact the throne of Norway . unluckily , Harald was couch for the execution of the Emperor and was nearly kill , but he escape and made it to Kattegat .
Viking : Valhalla season 3 ’s Constantinople storyline followed Emperor Romanos and Empress Zoe , but the show made many changes to their story .
To his surprisal , his nephew , Magnus , Olaf ’s Word , had killed Canute ’s boy and Billie Jean King of Kattegat , Svein , taking the throne for himself . There , the Jarls vote that both Magnus and Harald were entitled to the pot and suggested they rule together . Harald and Magnus agreed , but after the latter sample to kill Freydis , Harald turned the big businessman ’s guard against him , imprisoned him , and took over as the only king of Norway as Harald Hardrada .
The real Harald Hardradaalso co - reign Norway with his nephew , Magnus , but less than a year later , Magnus died without an heir .
